Do the voyages go in winter The Spirit sails all year round, in all weather.
On sailing day the ship leaves port at 12pm and arrives back after the voyage at 7am.
How fit do I have to be You will be doing quite a lot of physical activitty like pulling ropes, swimming and some on-shore activities, so a resonable level of fitness is required.
How many crew aboard There are five permanent crew on board, Master, 1st Mate, 2nd Mate, Cook and Engineer. There are also six volunteers who act as Watch Leaders and Leading Hands.
Can I go with a friend Part of the Spirit experience is getting to know new friends and everyone starting the voyage on equal footing, not knowing anyone.
Meet new friends
Do I have to be able to swim Apart from safety reasons, swimming is an important part of the programme so you will need to be able to swim preferably at least 100m.
