With almost everyone on board, we've had our first dinner together - veges prepped by some of our newly joined young people. Tonight, the ship will stay put alongside the wharf and tomorrow we'll head out into the Hauraki Gulf. The adventure has begun!

We are off to a great start, departing Princes Wharf for Kawau Bay. Today has been filled with sailing, swims and lots of other salty sailor activities. Everyone is finding their feet around the ship and coming together as a crew. We are now looking forward to the morning swim and another action packed day!

What an epic last couple of days! We crossed the mighty Hauraki yesterday, skirting round the edge of Little Barrier Island all the way to Port Fitzroy on Great Barrier. After an early dip this morning, everyone got their tramping boots on for a lovely walk around Kaikoura island. Dinner ashore, followed by JR’s hot chocolate when everyone got back to the ship, has guaranteed that everyone will sleep well tonight.
