Kia ora e te whanau,
Voyage 879 is off to a good start, after a reasonably nice night at Motiti Island we are planning on making good use of this breeze to sail towards Whitianga today. It would be rude not to explore that beautiful area before we get into the nitty gritty of our coastal voyage.
Kia ora team. We had a pretty cool day exploring the beautiful Mercury Bay area yesterday, rafting and some games on the beach. Today the troops are doing some more exploring in the rafts before we sail a little way south this afternoon. Everyone is in good spirits.
We have had a fabulous couple of days which have included a good leg stretch on Mayor Island, which was full of Pohutukawa in bloom. The water has been crystal clear and blue for swim time, which everyone has been loving.
Had a big day yesterday, fast sailing around East Cape followed by rig climbing underway, dolphins and getting ready to explore Tologa Bay. Today we got underway during breaky to cover more miles, now entering Hawke Bay, homeward bound. Troops all in good spirits.
