Ahoy! We have set sail on Voyage 901. An exciting energy is forming as we get to know each other and ship life. We have spent the day sailing to Man O' War, playing name games, learning sailor, and are now rewarding our hard mahi with an afternoon swim.

After stretching our legs with some action-packed beach games, including touch rugby and relays, we are on a mission to set all 14 sails! Our goal is to sail around the Northern and Eastern side of Barrier to Whangapoua. We are hoping for a nice smooth sail to put our new skills and teamwork to use after yesterdays exciting journey to Tawharanui Peninsula.

Yesterday, we spent the day seeing underwater with a snorkeling experience at Rakitu Island. We also tested our small boat sailing skills and teamwork as we zoomed around in the luggers. Today we were on a mission. We wanted to race the boat around from Eastern Barrier to Port Fitzroy. The troops raced up Mt Hobson via windy canyon, where we got 360 views of Aotea/Great Barrier Island, before heading down into Kaiarara Bay to meet the ship. We finished our adventures with a refreshing rope swing!

Spirits are high onboard! We spent yesterday climbing to the top of the mast, learning about values and chartwork, before heading ashore for a bonfire and a sing-a-long. We have since voyaged to Kawau Bay, where we are safely anchored up for the night.
