Kia ora koutou, the team are settling in well. We had our 1st morning swim this morning everyone sounded a little nervous until they hit.the water. It's still over 21°c. We had a beautiful sail out from Motu Ihe this afternoon and have just anchored at Rotoroa. Everyone wants a sunset swim to finish the day like they started.

Morena e whanau mā. It's all go onboard. Our rangatahi are having a proper adventure crossing the Firth of Thames yesterday as dark clouds rolled in from the east drenching us on our arrival. We're currently anchored in Tukituki Bay, off Coromandel peninsula. The team are flat out cleaning at the moment. When they're done we're setting sail for Motu Aotea/Great Barrier Island.

Captain's Log: Day 6

Log: 32/3

Tēnā koutou katoa we have arrived at Port Fitzroy after a leisurely sail north. On the way using the time to learn stuff and play games. Once here the team set off ashore at Kaikura Island to stretch their legs with a game of touch. Yesterday was spent exploring up rivers, sailing and cliff jumping. It's been inspirational watching people being brave in different ways. Today's plan it to head off for a hikoi in the ngahere. Connection time.

Captain's Log: Day 8

Log: 2/4

Tēnā koutou katoa, with the weather warning I thought to drop a line to let you know that we're keeping a close eye on the weather and when it comes through we're planning on being tucked up with 2 anchors in one of our favorite storm anchorages. Our trainees are doing an amazing job at getting involved in everything the Hauraki has to offer. This weather may slow us down but it's not going to stop us having fun.

Captain's Log: Day 9

Log: 3/4

Our plan for the day is to sail across to Kawau Bay. It will be a fun trip; today's wind is perfect for a tall ship! We will get there before the wind gets stronger and find a great sheltered spot for the night. The trainees are having a great time and are excited about the sail ahead.

Captain's Log: Day 9

Log: 4/4

Morena folks. After a lively sail across the Hauraki gulf we're anchored in Kawau Bay and planning on staying here until the wind eases. The team are all doing well and enjoying the chance to slow down a bit. It'll be a chill day today.

Captain's Log: Day 10

Log: 5/4

Happy birthday Mum from Yvonne. Trainees are taking over the ship today so the new captain Leon is writing this log. Our plan is to set sail around 9 and start making our way down to Motu Ihe, hopefully we'll have time to set up a rope swing and a slide and if we're lucky we might even spot some marine life on the way. Everyone's working together amazingly and it's looking like today will be really fun.
